GUESS WHAT?

ELEPHANT BUTT!

Ahh, the Zoo. It was awesome (and full of stinky animal butts). Good times.

Here's my favorite picture of the day:

(Click the picture to see the whole set!)

& The runner up:

We took the metro in, and Zoe had fun swinging on the bars:

She was quite the navigator when we got to the Zoo:

Here's a few more pics of the animals:

Capyberra

Cheetah

Elephant

Crazy-ass Emu

Ginormous Hippopotamus

Some kind of monkey

Two monkey's hugging

Orangutan

(These guys were the biggest hams! They came right up to the glass to show off for us.)

Panda

(I got a lot of great shots of these pandas!)

Prairie Dogs

Seals

Zebra

Beaver

Birds

The End!

Funnily enough, I have Paul in that exact pose near a fake monkey from our trip to Las Vegas.

I'll see if I can find it.... I didn't upload photos onto the computer back in those days so I have no idea where it might be.

If I find it, I'll scan it in and email it.

Good times. How was your trip to the zoo??

Maryland Zoo in Bmore

It was good, generally. Strangely enough the rental places at the Maryland Zoo are practically completely seperate from the zoo itself. So I still have never really been to the Maryland Zoo... But anyway, Chris and I got there over 30 minutes late due to the security system meeting. Which was unfortunate, to say the least. [We went for the system, btw. Seemed like a great deal and a nice setup.] More unfortunate was that it meant we couldn't go to see the outdoor pavillion we would theoretically use if we had the ceremony/reception at the zoo. Poor salesmanship on her part, in my opinion. That area is closed to the public, but I think she should have let us in with the inquiring family with the meeting after us. ::shrug::

Anyway, despite that, it is clearly Chris's preference. I, on the other hand, prefer the other place. We are going to have to talk over the pros and cons... and come to a decision. So yeah. Them's the deals. :)

What is the other place (your choice)?

Sucks about the pavilion... you'd think they'd squeeze you in somehow. At least to peek at it! Also, you have your first "con" for that place, 'cause if this is the way they handle things... :/

Congrats an your new alarm! Jayna said it talked to her the other day. hee!

It does talk, makes me feel like we have to give the house a British woman's name to go with the voice.

My "choice" is called Woodend, it's an Audubon Sanctuary in Bethesda. It's very pretty and we've heard lots of good things about weddings attended there, but it's much more expensive. [Though there are cheaper options, i.e. a Friday or Sunday wedding.] And yeah, my thoughts exactly, the first con of the zoo is definately customer service, it's been much better at Woodend, from appointment making and on.

I'm still surprised the pandas weren't as boring as they usually are.

I'm not usually a fan, either. I think it being feeding time for a youngster helped.

Feeding time is the best time to see them! I was there for feeding time like a year ago and was mesmerized by the cuteness.

It was pretty freakin' adorable! The young one fell over trying to stuff bamboo in his mouth, and I almost died laughing. :)

Little Miss Z is too adorable for words!

Emu are INSANE!

Someday I want to travel everywhere by a cart pulled by 10 - 15 Prairie Dogs.

:D

Emu are INSANE!

He made a b-line for us, and just kept biting at the hole in the fence right in front of us. I think this was comparable to "I'm crushing your head!" (looking through two fingers).

When you work out the logistics, I'm so there!
